Music today is ugly

Back when I was a kid I really love watching MTV. Since mp3 was not available back then, I usually buy a cd or a cassette of my favorite artist, if I don't have money I record the songs on my component from the TV and waited for my favorite music video to be played on MTV.
"music is ugly like me"

The 90's era was great they show all kind of music like, rock n roll, metal, techno, jazz, blues, pop, reggae and boy bands. Which is cool growing up.

The 90's also brought music from the 70's to the 80' from Deep purple to Aerosmith, from Madonna to the Spice Girls, from Beatles to Bon Jovi, from Juan De la cruz band to Wolfgang and so on...

I remember back then these were my favorite artists kinda forget some but they are: U2, Aerosmith, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Death Angel, Deep Purple, Nazareth, Bryan Adams, Black Sabbath, Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Westlife, Backstreet boys, NSYNC, Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, Carlos Santana, No Doubt, Smashing Pumpkins, Jimmy Hendrix, Darius Danesh, Helloween, Dream theater, Asin, Hagibis, Grin Department, Siakol, Razorback, Sun valley Crew, Eraserheads, Slapshock, Bon Jovi, Creed, Slipknot, Sepultura, Queen, Green Day, Korn, Harem Scarem, Michael Jackson I am trying to remember others but mostly these were my favorites.

You can't label me a pure rockers because I actually listen to all types of music

And then came the 'music destroyers.

When the year 2000 came, new acts has emerged, an experimentation of music, like combination of pop with electronic sounds, and new genre's rises. For me its OK and Linkin Park was one of the new acts that I like.

The destroyers
"I will promote sex to young children"

Rap/Pop- When I was on elementary entering high school I kinda like a rap group called 'Bone Thugs and Harmony" they have some lyrics not appropriate for the young audience, when you buy their CD's you will see a warning on the cover of the CD that contains explicit lyrics, it is the same with Eminem, most of his raps was about anger and how to piss his mother.

Those guys may have bad lyrics on their singing at least they are not hiding something to the audience, like if you know Eminem you know how he bad mouths on his songs so you won't buy his CD's to your kids, unlike today you keep listening and bouncing to Akon's song but it has a chorus that says "I wanna f%ck you", and its alarming because I saw kids singing about stuff that they doesn't really understand.

The difference between the likes of Akon, lil wayne, Katty Perry and those rap artist from the past is the approach to its listeners. Dr. Dre or Snoop Dogg writes about gangster rap and their target audience are gangster alike and Hip hops.

But today lil wayne or Katty Perry's target audience are teenagers and young kids. And when you see their music videos you will notice mild pornography.

A noise  they call Music

Back then each and every song is carefully written and perfected, and it creates an undying song which is being played until today. They use beautiful lyrics and music, only the true artist could bring such timeless songs.

But time has passed and in fact so fast, that making music is really fast. Today a song is composed of purely electronic sounds, and even a "Boom boom boom" from the bass drum can create a song! It is like reading with back up sound.

A bouncy tune with catchy lyrics like " teach me how to douggie" can be a wordwide hit, or make that "teach me how 2 fck ma bitch". That kind of beat is being repeated and still make millions of dollars, I remember a song from pharell of Neptune I think the song is "grindin" and it has the exact same beat, Oh and also Soulja Boy, pure garbage music.

The Ugly Truth Behind Today’s Pop Music

- Henry Jeong -

The cheapskate song that mentioned undressing. The pornographic scene appearing in the middle of a popular music video. Okay, these are starting to sound like part of a scene from the adult film industry. But these things actually exist as part of our mainstream music scene (“My First Kiss” by 3OH!3 and “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry), whereas other types of music, such as country, jazz and soul, are struggling to stay successful because they don’t include as many sexual references in their songs.

Pop music, whose main audiences are teenagers and children as young as 5 or 6 years old, thrives on the purchasing powers of these audiences. Pop is generally full of oversimplified and artistically dreadful compositions and songwriting, which are considered the most important part of the music, whether you play jazz, blues or country.

You may wonder what’s wrong with cheeky, fun and catchy tunes. But let me ask you one question: do these songs raise your soul up and inspire it when you’re down?

In order to survive in this harsh reality of the music industry, the pop musicians have developed a distinctive image and type of music. That’s good because diversity of music is always needed; however, much of its content and lyrics have become sexually inappropriate for younger audiences.

Look at some of the most viewed music videos: I bet you could find at least one song that’s considered being over-sexualized, such as my first two examples at the very beginning. For instance, “Teenage Dream” contains pornographic, grotesque depictions in middle of the song, and the lyrics of “My First Kiss” mention the undressing of undergarments.

Given the mass popularity of these artists and songs, more people feel the need to imitate and follow the actions of their idols and role models, thinking these things are cool, cute or sexy. This will cause negative social effects and deterioration of personal and social protection from these dangerous factors, such as exposure to pornographic materials.

Before we end i'd like to share to you "Music" this is one of my favorite
