It was announced on January 8, through TV5's Sunday showbiz talk show, Paparazzi: Showbiz exposed. The singer will arrive this Friday, January 13 and will start shooting for the teleserye on the network.
He will be paired with Jasmine Curtis Smith the younger sister of Anne Curtis (lucky bastard, hehe).
“There's something about the fans (here) that's just so different. They're very energetic, enthusiastic. They're very dedicated. It's something that shocks and surprises me every time,” he said.
David finished second during the seventh season of “American Idol” in 2008.

A foreigner bida will rock Philippine TV. Filipino audience love stuff that came from the west side, either its chocolate or some imported underwear we like having one of those.
And surely this will top the ratings, the jologs, beke and jejemon society loves cheesy teleserye especially with a handsome dude like David.
Having a foreigner and a half foreigner paired on a TV series will surely make your nose bleed, because all they say is, English, and they will mix it will tagalog, and when combined, sometimes it results to a Carabao English, which is funny and hilarious.
Lousy or not, no one can stop them! Make way for David and Jasmine teleserye on TV5.
