Taiwan protests on the Philippines over Spratlys

Taiwan protested Tuesday over a Philippine plan to explore oil and gas in disputed waters in the South China Sea where Taipei claims sovereignty.

"The Reed Bank is part of the Spratly islands... and we reject any claim or occupation by any means of the islands and the surrounding waters," the Taiwanese foreign ministry said in a statement.

According to the ministry, the Philippines is planning to accept bidding to explore and drill for oil and gas in the Reed Bank.

In Manila, a spokeswoman for President Benigno Aquino on Tuesday insisted on her country's right to the disputed area.

"We maintain that Recto Bank is within the territorial jurisdiction and is undisputed," Abigail Valte told reporters, using the Filipino name for Reed Bank.

Taiwan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, China and Malaysia claim all or part of the Spratlys, which could lie on top of large oil reserves.

All claimants except Brunei have troops based on the archipelago of more than 100 islets, reefs and atolls, which have a total land mass of less than five square kilometres (two square miles).

The Taiwanese coastguard currently has a 130-strong garrison on Taiping, the biggest island in the Spratlys archipelago.

Taiwan's security chief has called for Taipei to commit more military resources in the Spratlys, reacting to reports that rival claimants to the disputed waters are building up their armed presence.

What are the basis of Taiwan's claim to these Islands?

Geographical, Historical, Legal? or None of the above

As far as I know Taiwan is really far from these Islands, if their basis is Geographical, they should claim Luzon instead, Batanes or Babuyan Group of Islands because it is near than the spratlys.

If its Historical, I am not really familiar with their history,  but the only countries that stepped on these islands first, are Chinese and the first to claim an island is the Philippines. 

If legality is the basis, there is no way they could claim these islands, even if they ask experts from the international law.

My answer is None of the Above.Taiwan are starting to get greedy, I don't blame the kind of attitude they have since they are very similar with China, and they look like Chinese. 

I hope these people will come to their senses and stop protesting something that they don't really own.They should learn how to respect a country's territory.

EDSA Revolution: the downfall of a Nation

February the month of celebration for most Filipinos, aside from valentines day we celebrate the 1986 EDSA revolution which ousted former President Ferdinant Marcos. On the 25th of February Aquino loyalists party on EDSA showcasing variety shows, sing and dance, to commemorate the anniversary which they call "People Power".

For over 26 years the Filipino people has been told that the EDSA people power was a symbol of unity and true democracy, and ousting a former dictator could free this country and bring peace to the whole nation.

When I was a little kid I have watched a 5 hour documentary film about the Marcos era, Martial law and People Power. I was very interested what happened on the year where I was born. The documentary was great, it almost answers all of my questions about what happened in the past, but I was just  a kid that time, I didn't understand some of the facts, and since then that documentary hasn't been shown in years.

Curiosity leads me in searching what really happened back then, and I want answers to these questions; why is Ninoy Aquino a hero? Why they claimed Cory the mother of democracy? Why did they killed Ninoy? Why did the church interfere with politics? and after 26 years why did a once wealthy nation become one of the poorest in Asia?

Oligarchy in the making


Years has passed and Filipinos are still stuck in this hero thing euphoria, where Cory the heroine and Ninoy the hero, that is why the people voted on their son Noynoy. After Marcos has been ousted the constitution has been revised, which I believe favors the rich and powerful families. If you look at it today, the poor are defenseless and the rich are shielded by the law.

Four years after Marcos was ousted, Cory’s administration was highly criticized for its failure to deliver on the much-needed economic reforms and was plagued by allegations of corruption involving Cory’s wealthy and influential relatives – the same allegations they used to topple Marcos in the first place.

The People who supported the revolution like, Fidel Ramos, JP Enrile, the Church, Cardinal Sin, the Lopez, Zobel, Gozon, Pangilinan family and many more, has now absolute power in the Philippines, mostly in business and politics and even showbiz.
These said personalities are even more powerful today. A very big thanks to Cory Aquino, by selling some of the government owned business like NAIA ( formerly known as Manila International Airport, it was changed after Ninoy was killed), Petron, PLDT, Maynilad, Meralco to those who helped them.

The sad thing about who wins, is that they are the one's dictating history. In text books, on TV, and even on Yahoo. The Yellow ribbon army are controlling everything. They tell how evil Ferdinand Marcos is and people power is good for the country.

But for me how can Marcos be evil, he is a world war II hero, he achieved so many even if all the Presidents combined, the Peso almost out-worth the US dollar, the Philippines is second richest behind Japan in Asia. No political dynasty even Marcos was a President, none of his family members was a politician only him, the security is very good, rebels and separatists groups feared the government, and justice is always served none of the people from the supreme court can be bribed, in short corruption is almost zero, except for the President himself. In my Opinion, who cares... even if he stole millions it doesn't matter as long as your country is also rich I don't give a shit about it.


Why did they say Ninoy Aquino is a hero?

Ninoy Aquino was a senator who opposes Marcos, he was accused of Treason and was sentenced to death penalty, but because of the President it was never carried out, Aquino and Marcos are good friends in their fraternity. And Marcos was the one who let Aquino escape the Philippines to the US.

After 3 years he came back and wanted to talk to Marcos, but there is a death plot against him, he knows, but still he insist on going home. He was killed, the President was accused of killing the senator, now the whole country sympathizes the Aquino family and the President lost control.

Now where is the hero in that. A guy who is accused of treason, a communist supporter, opposes the President most of his political career and has no achievement as a senator is now a hero. What he did wasn't heroic, he was just assassinated and the people accused the wrong person.

Even up today there is no proof that Marcos was behind the killing of Ninoy, but the killer who is now got a parole admits and accused, Ninoy Aquino's brother in law Danding Cojuangco, brother of the late Cory Cojuangco Aquino and the media doesn't seems to be interested on this issue.


Why they say Cory lead the People Power revolution


Actually Cory was just a plain house wife! she has no political background and is under qualified to lead a nation. Everything about her was exaggerated, the Cory magic, the Mother of democracy, and they even want Cory to be saint.

When Mrs Aquino became President the country has no direction at all. Debts rises, kudetas, human rights violation is rampant, the rise of Communist rebels,  the country is in jeopardy of a downfall. Its like a company that is bankrupt


Why did the church interfere with politics


For me it is simple, they want power. During the Marcos time, the church was indeed true to their teachings and will never enter the dirty world of politics.

But time has changed, Cardinal Sin ordered the masses to rebel against the dictator on a local radio station. A Catholic country like the Philippines can be easily controlled by the church, its like the pied piper is the cardinal and the mouse was the Filipino people.

Aftermath

Look at the Philippines now, it is still kinda peaceful, but it is very far from the Philippines before the Aquinos took over.

Corruption is still very rampant, Political dynasty is the new trend to get rich. Prices are on all time high, too many unemployed, too many hungry and has no home. Education and health are not for everyone, and ignorance is still getting worse.

After 26 years we are still back where we started, we are still being lead by the person who has the same blood who took this country to a downfall. The same family that takes the Philippines into a back ward civilization


There is a saying a Filipino is worth dying for, but the question is what are they fighting for?

If he has none, and his intentions are not for his people and not for his country, I rather let him die or even shoot him myself.

Danger of CJ Corona Aquital

Nothing much can be achieved in the impeachment of CJ Corona even if successful in the Senate except to sear in the public memory that a radical change in the leadership of the Supreme Court, touted before as the “untouchable” branch of the government is but a myth. But surely, it will not alter the present dynamics of the court and the manner by which it would dispose a case that comes to it for review involving litigant or litigants that were responsible in conferring on the members of the institution the privileged of their positions.

Thus it doesn’t matter if Corona is out. It doesn’t make the job for PNOY much easier.

Without CJ Corona, the Supreme Court would still be composed of 11 magistrates appointed by Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and three magistrates appointed by President Simeon B. Aquino. Though Justice Antonio Carpio was her appointee, this jurist was able to wiggle himself out from her clutches. But voting would still much run along the same gridlines: a majority to favor the old caliphate of GMA, and get her and her regular Mafiosi network of criminals off the hook.

But why would someone make an effort to make a court that should be co-equal and independent be a tool of PNOY? Because the court has not shown any degree of independence in the past, it might as well be a tool of someone who wants to see government bureaucrats walk the path of righteousness than be a tool of a thief.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has just one vote just like the other magistrates but he could make some moral persuasion to his “distinguished brethrens” by promising them foreign travel complete with allowances, hotel accommodations and free meals courtesy of World Bank Loans if they vote in accord with the “conscience” of the Court. But the CJ need not go this far if you consider that these associate jurists were also appointees of the previous power broker, and though she had lost her luster, she still holds tremendous power at the back door.

It is not an argument that these jurists can make more by kowtowing with the new administration of PNOY. It was simply on account of GMA’s reign that she has dispensed so much favors and had exacted perpetual loyalty from them in return. These favors could come in various forms: i.e., cancelled checks for hospital payments of the jurists or their immediate families; records of money transfers to their bank accounts, or a dossier of their indiscretions which she can dangle like a sword over their heads.

Now you can understand why many would not submit their SALNs and would take issue with the prosecutors for not submitting their own SALNs. But these congressmen would stay only in Congress for three years and if they are lucky, for another three years. In the case of jurists, they stay in the court for life or until retirement age of 75. They make money unseen by the public for a period of 30 years if they join the judiciary at age 45, and yet they would begrudge Congressmen for not showing their illicit income for six years. It is not a case of the kettle calling the pot black; it is a case of market vendor with altered weighing scale calling a bank swindler the greater thief.

In 1927, Governor Leonard Wood bent Chief Justice George Malcolm of the colonial Supreme Court to decide a case against Manuel Luis Quezon rather than face a media flurry over the jurist’s young Filipina mistress.

Mr. Marcos, acting as a modern-day Wood had crippled the opposition to his regime during martial law by diplomatically asking them to join his regime; bribe them, and threaten them if the first two options had failed. This was the reason why of the 10 jurists of the Supreme Court during martial law, only Justices Roberto Concepcion and Claudio Teehankee were the conscientious objectors. All the others have their tails wrapped around their balls. This was also the reason why mid-way the martial law era, the public only saw Ninoy Aquino, Tanada, Sumulong, Soc Rodrigo, Anding Roces, Jovito Salonga and Jose W. Diokno putting up with the dictator.

GMA has never been a neophyte of the chemistry of power, after all she was a daughter of a President. She could have learned also from Mr. Marcos and Erap, the consuming politics of blandishment and bribery. She allowed the military to have their own business apart from the regular payolas from jueteng and she cornered government contracts to her friends and supporters the way Mr. Marcos would make business for his cronies and Erap for Atong Ang and his “midnight cabinet.”

Just like Marcos, GMA had the Comelec under her thumb and she packed up the Supreme Court with her spineless loyalists masquerading as upright jurists. At the time that her authority was waning, she had managed to skirt the prohibition in the constitution and appointed a Chief Justice who now faces a legal gauntlet for treating her with royal reverence.

While a public euphoria over the dismissal of CJ Corona can generate a tremendous goodwill for the president to make way for his political agenda of reforming the bureaucracy, a contrary ruling can spark a wildfire that can destabilized the nation.

This early the Senate and the defense were already cautioning the public against trial by publicity which is another way of saying that the public should not weigh into the process of impeachment and leave the Senators to appreciate the evidence against CJ Corona. As if the public cannot discern the legitimacy of purchases of some 45 posh real estates in Metro Manila by the Chief Justice, or his wife and children from sources that they can credibly explain. It has nothing to do with admissibility of evidence or the finer nuances of the law; it has something to do with a simple arithmetic.

That the public is being cautioned to control their passion is simply to prepare them from reacting convulsively if the Senate sees things differently. There is a fear that the indirect recall by the sovereign of their jurist through the Senate could translate into a direct recall of their judicial officer if they go to the streets to demand his resignation once the debate in Congress turns out to be a spectacular circus with Senators dressed as clowns. This could be another Erap impeachment in the making.

If this happens, GMA who suddenly recovered from her ailments through local medical intervention that she was able to write an economic treatise, could recoil in fear that no matter what the institution says of Corona’s innocence, the public is ready to make a different judgment. It will dim her own chances of getting through the same fast lane because a public outrage could invite a military intervention which could be totally pro-PNOY or a lost command out for another adventure!

When I was strolling on some shopping malls, I always can't keep my eyes off to some foreigners with their Filipina girlfriend, who seems to be very young, and the guy is old enough to be her grandpa.

Those kind of scenarios are everywhere, you will see them on hotels, resorts, malls. 

A grandpa with a menor de edad girlfriend, kinda disgusting, but these country has no strict laws on child molestation and child abuse. If you try to look just about anywhere, especially on dump sites you will see children ages 4-12 already working just to feed their empty stomach because their parents cannot afford to take care of them.

Sex tourism

An article in the newspaper Davao Today reports that, according to experts, the growth of tourism in the Philippines in places such as Cebu and Boracay, has given rise to the sexual exploitation of women and children. In a 2004 article, the People's Recovery, Empowerment Development Assistance Foundation (PREDA) reported in 2004 that ECPAT, which it describes as "a global network that campaigns against child prostitution", estimates that 300,000 sex tourists from Japan alone visit the Philippines every year. In the same article, PREDA reports, "many others are British." Local NGO Preda states that the majority of the "customers" (the word used by the children to describe their abusers) are local tourists and about ten percent are foreign tourists. The foreign customers, according to arrest figures compiled by ECPAT Manila rank in frequency as follows: - American, Japanese, Australian, British, German, Swiss, other. nationalities.

Unicef noted that child trafficking in the Philippines is the highest incidence of child prostitution in a tourist area.

Foreign Child Molesters

The Philippines continued to assist U.S. law enforcement authorities in the transfer to U.S. custody of Americans who sexually exploited children.Foreign child molesters are a major problem in a country like the Philippines. Some foreign child molesters are very well connected and have positions in industry and politics. Profile studies of these child molesters show they come mostly from Europe and are usually well off, married and with children of their own. Some foreign child molesters arrange with bribes and corrupt practices to get the children out of the country and abuse them in another country. The problem of foreign child molesters continues to be reported in the press.Foreign child molesters have operated openly in the Philippines. Government officials have been accused of turning a blind eye to the sex tourism trade because it helps promote tourism in the country.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has warned of a new modus operandi of foreign child molesters in the Philippines, “The child molesters usually meet the mothers, sometimes even the grandmothers, of possible victims online and make them their girlfriends. The women usually let the economically better-off foreigners into their lives and their homes, not knowing that the men would later pounce on their young children.” BI Commissioner Marcelino Libanan told the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

In Angeles, Pampanga (a hotspot for trafficking and sex trade), child molesters are increasingly using the Internet to lure other child molesters to come to the Philippines. Live video streaming on the Web show children being sexually abused. Other child molesters browse personal profiles or lurk in chat rooms to find their victims. -WIKIPEDIA

Sad part

The sad part is, I see these pedophiles going around in public with these underage Filipino girls like absolutely nothing is wrong! What is worse is, it seems the Filipinos will turn a blind eye to it, as long as these foreigners are helping provide for their families. How would you like your 14 year old daughter to be sexually involved with a man old enough to be her grandfather, hmm? How would you like her to be screwing a guy who screws tens, maybe even hundreds of other girls around her age? It is sickening, pure f*$king sicking to me.

These little girls need time to grow up, time to spend being children. They don’t need to start having sex at 12, 13, or 14 years old. They need to be little girls, doing little girl things.

So, NBI and PNP, I hope you are listening to me. Please, PLEASE put a stop to the abuse of underage girls in the Philippines. Start looking in the provinces of this country, one at a time, and start cleaning up and getting rid of these useless people who claim to be members of our society. They are sick and disgusting.

Philippine new tourism campaign

MANILA- The Department of Tourism (DOT) has revealed the new slogan and logo to be used in global advertising to attract foreigners and balikbayans to the Philippines.

Data shows about 3.7 million arrivals from abroad in 2011 it also includes Balikbayan Filipinos. With this new sloagan and advertising campaign, the DOT secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. expects foreign arrivals to increase at 4.2 million by the end of the year.

Negative comments

MANILA TIMES-Filipino self-flagellation immediately followed the press conference. The negative comments were of the ilk that appeared at the end of the ABS-CBN website’s online news about the new slogan and logo. “Stupid idiots plagiarizing the Swiss,” said ror who called the DOT and the creators of the new brand campaign morons for copying the headline of Switzerland’s 1951 tourism campaign. (We have a story on this, with photos, on page 1.). Several comments were about copying the Swiss ad. A couple complained not about the new slogan and logo but mocked “fun in the Philippines” as something that starts when one tries to book a flight.

Another comment asked if it was fun in the Philippine for incompetent policemen to arrest a couple from Norway by mistake. The writer said this kind of news, plus details of corruption and kidnappings, flashed all over the world, will always keep foreigner tourists away.
Others criticized the campaign for bombing again (palpak na naman), for being funny because it was made by “abnoy” authors (slang for abnormal person), for being bland and uncreative.

Two neutral comments said the logo—featuring the pixelized detail of a colorful straw mat (banig)—looked good but was more appropriate for a business campaign than for tourism promotion. Two suggested more work and research should be done. A comment, by Pintor, did not praise the campaign or the art but berated the negative commentators who should share their ideas if they have any.

Copycat

The said slogan was said used in Switzerland 'its more fun' slogan in 1954. Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima said intellectual property rights expire after 50 years. Now it has been 61 years since the slogan has been used

Wow Philippines

Some critics preferred the old slogan "WOw! Philippines". 

It may be true that its more fun in the Philippines but Wow Philippines was a better tourism slogan. Because the Philippines will Wow! you with its beautiful places, warm people and beautiful Filipinas.

Despite many natural wonders an islands composed of more thant 7,000, the Philippines are still behind in attracting tourist compared to its Southeast Asian neighbors.

Actually tourism in this country will boost if this government will start focusing on infrastructure, decreasing poverty, eliminating corruption and teaching citizens to be disciplined and respectful to one another.

Another is to ensure security eliminating terror threats, ending wars with rebels and separatists. 

The hunt for ex army General Palparan

Manila - According to the Philippine government, its bounty for former army general Jovito Palparan has reached 1 million pesos ($23, 000). He was accused of kidnapping two leftist- activist students.

About 

Jovito Palparan is widely known for his campaign against communist groups. He is a party list representative of the Bantay Partylist. In 2003- 2004 he was the commander in the Philippine Humanitarian Contingent in Iraq. 

Critics sometimes calls him "the Butcher" of having a role in alleged extrajudicial abductions and killings of government critics during his military service. But he denied those accusations.

Aside from being a soldier he also earned a master's degree in management from the Philippine Christian University in 1994, and a master's degree in national security administration from the National Defense College of the Philippines in 1999.

He also received awards as a soldier namely:

The Bounty

Department of Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said that whoever gives significant information that will lead to the capture of former Maj. Gen. Jovito Palparan will get the reward.

The former General is charged with the kidnapping of Karen Empeno and Sherlyn Cadapan in 2006. Those two are still missing and general Palparan has denied these accusations. He calls this allegations communist propaganda

Another PNOY's revenge?

I have no concrete evidence, but I can say our current President is a communist supporter. His father former senator Ninoy Aquino is a well known communist supporter, which broke his bond with friend and fraternity brother Ferdinand Marcos, and resulted in some "people power". 

This government is currently giving millions of pesos to NPA rebels as a support, even these rebels earned over 300 million pesos from tax extortion a report says. 

That explains why these rebels got more high powered gun than the AFP . 

A world without Palparan

I live in a province where communist rebels are almost everywhere. And they strike horror every time they want. Assaulting police outpost and Military bunkers, killing Innocent civilians, stealing their livelihood and food and brainwashing the young and intelligent youths. 

When General Palparan arrived in 8 Infantry Division, I felt a bit worried about his presence since he is a known "butcher", and days has passed, I noticed a little change in my hometown. The City's most notorious gangs are now gone, NPA's and communist supporters has no guts roaming around the city, the bullies or "siga" are nowhere to be sighted you won't even see men without tshirts roaming.

I have an encounter once with his soldiers, and I felt worried they were about an average of 6 feet tall soldiers and we were outmatched if we try to resist. We were playing skateboard in the plaza, these soldiers inspect our bags, and they see some wrench some screw drivers. One of them says " you must be doing some suspicious activities" and we just said "No, we just play skateboards and those tools are for repairing the deck" then they let us go. 

Since then, they just smiled on us whenever they roam around the city. But now they are gone, the "siga" is back, the gangsters are back. And police has no power against these bad elements, because they are fat and poorly trained. 

Just recently I saw a guy been shot near the plaza screaming for help. And it took almost 25 minutes till one police arrives! duhh! police station is very near the area of the incident. I know that because I was there.

Ex army major Palparan maybe a butcher as critics says. But for me he just want peace but doesn't matter what the cost.

 I like those people who take risks just to do something what he think is the right thing to do. 

And for this government all I can say is you guys are "commie"...

Protesting in the Philippines

If you watch the daily News, you will probably notice protests against the government almost every week. Since the Marcos administration rally's and protests has been "they say" an act of democracy.

6 Presidents has passed since Martial Law and they are still in the streets protesting about something they though the right thing to do, encouraging young teenagers and students to revolt against the current government and fight for your country.

They usually protests against Education budget cut, Health, Agriculture, tax protest, Human Rights Violation, and rally against the United States.


Most rallies are being funded and organized by some Party list groups like Bayan Muna, Gabriela, Kabataan, Kilusang Mayo Uno a well known supporter of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP-NPA).

Recently, police fired water cannon to break up protests on Tuesday, an estimated 500 students joined the rally inspired by the "Occupy Wall Street movement in the United States.

The protest march and plan to camp out on the historic Mendiola bridge but riot Police had blocked them, because they don't have a permit to rally and for security purpose since it is near the Presidential Palace, they also plan to have a rock concert near the bridge, if they bring Metallica i would probably join them!.

Anyway, I was wondering if these rallyist do truly understand what Occupy Wall Street mean, why would they camp in Mendiola?
First of all, Occupy Wall Street is about and against social inequality, corporate greed, high unemployment and corruption as well. If they want their voices to be heard they should camp in Makati instead, where the biggest and the richest business men are. And stop complaining about the government it is the business men that give jobs and sign you paycheck.

Do more harm than good
When former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad visit the Philippines, he was asked about what is the problem in the Philippines that hurt the economy the most, he answered " the Philippines has too much Democracy".
And I believe of what the former PM has said, Filipino's are over using the democracy and freedom this government give to its people, where discipline in every Filipino is almost gone.

Last November, US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton visited the Philippines to commemorate 60 years of Mutual Defence Treaty, and promised second warship for ill-equipped Philippine Military, then to meet President Benigno Aquino Jr.
Her convoy was mobbed by angry protesters throwing red paints and eggs to the Secretary of State.

Why did they do that? Why do they hate the Americans so much.

What they are doing hurts the economy, potential investors, common Filipino's and puts shame on the Filipino people. A world leader is always being disrespected in the Philippines.

How about protesting against China?, they take our islands, sells pirated products, sell drugs, do some illegal business, slaving our fellow Filipino threatening and disrespecting our country.
These activists are bias, they think they are fighting for the Filipino, but they are not, what they are doing is anarchy and not democracy and they are supporting China's cause and interest than their own country.

Democracy/ Anarchy
Too much of everything is never a good thing, and too much protests leads to anarchy a lawless movement of the people, protests can be done in a peaceful way without violence and disturbance, not all people likes to rally in the streets and they should respect the law.

Fighting for Nothing
If you go to the streets and join the protest you might try asking some of these protesters of what they really fight for, here are some nonsense reasons why they join the rally:

• nanduon kasi young barkada ko, sumama na lang ako ( most of my friends joined the rally so i joined them too )
• may snack daw na pinamimigay (snack is served)
• gusto namin mag inuman habang may rally (we like drinking while protesting)
• Hinakot kami dito sa squatters area at binigyan ng 50 pesos para sumama ( the organizers gathered people from the squatters area and give 50 pesos to join the protests )
• Hindi ko alam (I don't know)
• Nakiki osyoso lang (*anu ba english nyan*)
•

I was just browsing on the internet and join some forum on online gaming, and I saw some posts about banning Filipinos on joining their game. I have read most of their posts and they complain that most Pinoy gamers are hackers, scammers, cheaters, very boastful, and a bad looser. Which reminds me about the Beauty Pageant which Ms. Samcey Supsup didn't win the crown, most Pinoys have overeacted  and blames even Ms Lea Salonga for loosing the title.

Even it is just a gaming forum it is a bad image for the Filipino People, because most foreigners are generalizing Pinoys, what we do on the internet will reflect of what we do in real life.

Most People know Filipino's are very family oriented and god fearing, they are also very nice and warm people, and most of all very hospitable. 

But in every good side there is always a bad side. So I have come up something that are part of Filipino Culture that most people hate (usually foreigners and balikbayans).

• Pinoys thinks that all foreigners and people who are from abroad are rich, and they should give something when they return to the Philippines, if they did not give they will be labeled "kuripot" or "makasarili(selfish)", they though money are easily earned in the states or any other country.
• Filipinos are very respectful especially on their elders, but if you are fat, ugly, or black you will get teased a lot.
• Some Filipino's doesn't accept criticism, when you criticize something they do, they always overreact.
• Liars, Cheaters, Sinners those who claim to be a "Good Christian"
• Have too many kids, cannot afford to feed them and will ask relatives for money
• Those who constantly swindling foreigners, or steals them.
• Honesty is very rare, if you drop a wallet there is only a small chance of whoever picks it will return it to the owner.
• Bad Drivers, doesn't give way, when you go to metro cities you will notice how undisciplined most drivers are.
• The lack of common sense, most people don't have it or doesn't know the meaning at all.
• Crab Mentality one of the most common attitude of Filipino's, when someone goes up they will pull it down to the point they will achieve the same level, if there is an achiever the looser will take him down so both of them will be losers. 
• Colonial Mentality, we don't like buying our own products, we love expensive and imported brands. If you can't speak English you are cheap
• Those who are believers of crazy superstitions.
• Bahala na, a term for lazy people.
• Envious, when some achieved something, instead of praising for their hard work, they will just ignore and start making gossips, for example someone becomes successful and rich, the envious/crab person will start making false gossips, like he/she is a druglord, drug pusher, prostitute or a man whore :-P, bank robber etc.
• Parents who doesn't know how to discipline their children, uses physical and emotional abuse
• Law Breaker, when they see a sign like bawal umihi dito( do not pee here), they will still pee.
• Those who didn't mind their own business

Well anyway this is just some lists i have taken from different peoples reaction, I know you have your own lists.

But there are no country and its People are perfect, every country in the world has its own flaws and maybe even worse. We are still lucky we live in a democratic country where we can do whatever we want, go to places anywhere and live a normal life, so, right now lets just be thankful of what we have and enjoy life.

Spratly Islands: Who really owns it?

Spratly Islands a group of Islands being claimed by countries like Philippines, China, Vietnam, Taiwan and Brunei. An Islands said to be rich in natural gas and has potential on oil reserves.

Located in the Western Philippine Sea the said Islands has been the reason for conflicts between claiming nations.

Who owns it?

Based on the map and international laws, The Philippines will own these Islands. It is very near Palawan only about 40+ miles from the Islands, unlike other countries like China they are very far, but they are the one claiming all these Islands and start putting military bases and start bullying other nations especially the Philippines and Taiwan. And the Philippines is the only country from the claiming nations that has a municipality in these island we call it  Kalayaan or Freedom.

Ever since in the 70's and 80's these Islands has been occupied and pre owned by the Marcos Administration. They sent and put military bases on these Islands, Marcos knows these Islands where valuable, so the government hired a company that would explore these Islands.

But now they are being restricted to explore, the Philippines lost control

 why?

During the Arroyo administration corruption are at its peak, the Philippines have gone to suspicious contracts and deal with the Chinese government including the ZTE NBN deal.

But what these contracts has to do with Spratlys, are they related?

The answer is Yes!

Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's government has borrowed money from the Chinese government more times than all the Filipino Presidents combined, instead of borrowing money from the world bank. When you borrow money from the Chinese they doesn't care if you gonna use it for projects or use it for self interest, as long as you pay them back they doesn't care unlike other countries, the borrowed money must be used for projects that would help a nation, and must have transparency.

During that time the Arroyo government borrowed billions of dollars from the Chinese and promised a ticket to enter and explore the Kalayaan Group of Islands or Spratly Islands, but the Chinese they didn't just explore they start owning these Islands by creating Airports and Military bases, they start shooting Filipino fishermen when they see one.

The Congress made a law that will concrete ownership of these Islands, it passed... but for some unknown reason it was pulled back, I think China has something to do with it.
Now the Philippines are in danger for loosing these Islands.
In short the Arroyo administration borrowed billions of dollars from China in exchange for full access of the Spratlys Island

This happened before, the country lost ownership of Sabah now it is part of Malaysia, Sabah was owned by a datu a royal family in Mindanao they have the documents to show ownership of
Sabah, but now its part of Malaysia, only President Marcos fight the ownership of Sabah and the Spratlys.

The Presidents who followed are fools and useless.
They sold the country and betrayed its people
