Las Vegas, Nevada, the world awaits in the epic battle between two of the worlds best boxer today, the clash between the WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, this fight will decide who among these two the better fighter, after their previous 2 fights ended in a controversial decision.
Most Boxing Analysts predicts this would be a Manny Pacquiao fight, hoping for a knock out in the early rounds, some say this is a good warm up fight for Manny to fight against its arch nemesis Floyd Mayweather Jr.
After a couple of rounds in the fight, it didn't turn out the way it was predicted; Marquez was accurate in his punches, and Manny looks like he was the one who are less prepared.Marquez was very defensive while Manny was the more aggressive, but Marquez was the one landing on heavier punches than Manny, its like JMM has done its homework, and predicted how Pacquiao would move. You can see disappointment in Pacquiao's eyes wanting to knock out Marquez real bad, but it didn't happen.
After 12 rounds it has come to a decision on the scorecard. The scorecard details 114-114 a draw, 115-113 Pacquiao, 116-112 Pacquiao, declaring the winner and still WBO welterweight champino Manny Pacquiao.
After watching on TV i thought Marquez won, I can see Marquez landed more punches than Pacquiao, and people start "booieng" throwing water bottles, they cant believe what had just happen. I can see Juan Manuel Marquez very disappointed, after hearing the scorecard he instantly go the locker room.
But based on stats on HBO..
“Pacquiao has thrown 578 punches connecting 176 while Marquez had it 436 connecting 138. Pacquiao threw 304 jabs connecting 59 to Marquez’s 182 with 38 connects. Pacquiao threw 274 power punches connecting 117 while Marquez threw 254 with 100 connecting.”
If that is the basis Manny won, OK he win...But still I'am not convinced, those scores came from the computer.
I don't know which is more accurate the computer or the human eye
After 3 epic battle between these two fighters I still don't know who among them is better, a fourth fight might be in schedule in May, but I suggest this would be the last, the fourth fight might be boring, because it might end up the same as the past 3 fights... well anyway it depends on their promoters.
By the way I got something, Manny Pacquiao was kinda slow, maybe this is one of the reasons why besides his leg cramps.
But this kind of footwork is a common boxing strategy
